I want to know how many horsepower and ft/lbs of torque this thing makes.

Hmm, and here I was all concerned about a little oil leak in my 10 year old Town & Country. That thing is nothing but a continuous oil leak.

And at 4:30 we get a very rare up close view of the wonders of V-TEC.

While it appears to be an engine that would power some sort of belt-driven machinery, I have no real idea what’s going on. I mean, I see what looks to me like a large camshaft, and rockers, and valves, and I see the piston, it’s all just not making sense.

Let’s see, piston area as big as your thigh, about 2/3 meter throw, figure... can’t stop it with your hands? (Not an ME, as you could prolly tell.)
My granddad had a Case Machinery shop in mid Wisconsin in the early 60’s, and he had (to my initial memory) a 1 cylinder diesel that powered all the power shafts throughout the shop. Then it converted to a seriously large electric motor to power the shafts, then it was sold and the leather belt machines were all converted to electric motor drive.
There is nothing like raw power, flowing in the air, driving machines that are doing work. I appreciate every internal combustion engine I see and it’s advancement in efficiency and whatnot. It’s nothing compared to trip hammers on external belts, steam engine days with 60’ 12” wide leather belts running threshing machines, and the floor thumping vibration a single cylinder engine running an entire shop.
But I digress. I wonder what my 6plus is saying now. ;)
